In response to the several posts about Buffalo took their money, I wish these people were just joking!

The estimate of profitability is a very riduculous issue. In my eyes, this view is a insult to the friendly Canadian people.

How about US government lowers GC application standard and charge $50,000 for each GC application? soon they will be able to pay back their national debt. but I don´t see any sign of this will happen.

Can anybody find a developed country that has a more easy immigration standard than Canada? The answer is probably is no. As a visa-holder in US for many years, I clearly feel the great hostility of Americans towards immigrants! And this trend is going with one recent sign of the House passing the Real ID Act.

Money is just an issue of when you only see far to your nose tip. The whole picture is quite different. The immigrants will have deep and far impact on almost every ascepts of the society. Canadians consider their immigration policy in terms of these long-term effect, not trying to make money through application fees.

So these people talking about profitiablity, either they are just joking, or they are extremely mean and selfish! They forget the great land that Canadian people offered to us immigrants!

As a to-be-landed immigrant, my waiting time was more than doubled than the expected time on the 2nd letter. But I am always grateful to Canada, thank them for giving me a new home!

You have said a few things that I did not feel like I could because I am a Canadian. Thank you. I am sorry to hear that your wait is proving to be longer than expected. Buffalo? I wonder if our recent US election has plaid havoc with the application numbers.

Sharon:

You are welcome!

I didn´t blame anybody at all for the delay. This was partially due to the 2002 law-change. Things are always changing and nobody could accrutely predict the time. In fact, after some wait I carefully submitted all the documents that I thought were missing/incomplete, I got Interview waiver from CIC incredibly fast! This active/constructive way worked much better than sending CIC inquiry fax!

CRK,

Firstly, I should approve your words about Canadian people. Canadian people are nice, helpful and friendly. If you´ve read the previous post thoroughly (which I doubt it), you would probably have found that no one complained about Canadian people. The problem is Canadian government and the shortcomings it has in its immigration program.
Unfortunately, most of us prefer to speak not to think; simply because the latter is tougher!
70 to 80% of the PR applicants are rejected. Why? Because they do not have enough points. How long it takes to assess
these applications for an officer who has been trained for this particular job? I just said the time they spend for assessing the application not the time they spend chatting each other, having a coffee or reading newspapers. I am sorry to say this my friend, but people are not sick to complain for something that works perfectly!!!

Hi all,
There is no doubt that Canada is a great place as UN ranked it as the best place on earth to live in. But, the Canadian government here represented by CIC doesn´t pay good attention to the applicants who r putting their whole life in hold for immigration process.

We have an old adage that says NO IS BETTER THAN WAIT so if CIC would kick me out from the day one I submitted my application would be easier for me that waiting for years then tell me that u don´t have enough points especially if they raised the pass mark more than the time I applied. If I applied at a time and I don´t have sufficient points and I realize that, then I´m crazy and I can´t blame any one coz this is my fault. But when I apply and then CIC raises the pass mark and I´m out, then what!!!!

Again CIC should be aware that our lives are in HOLD.I have so many opportunities to invest my money and I´m sure this will double my money within 2 years but I can´t risk and withdraw from my bank to invest coz CIC may request an updated statement.
I want to have a kid but I can´t now coz I´m afraid they might ask me to do medicals and I´ll have to wait till my wife´s delivery date. Those people are having our lives between their hands and act is nothing is serious at all.

May be CIC have the right to do that as I know that, about 800.000 are in queue to be processed but hiring more staff will be more than realistic.

One more thing, USA is about to get involved in a new war and looks more difficult than Iraqi war which will reflect very badly in CIC processing system as more delay will be predicted here. So processing time will increase then pass mark increases then more people get kicked of over and over. So the ring never ends but Canada remains best place to live in on earth.
