Subject: Buffalos took my money - Part 4
Ok...I see my original thread has spawned other threads.

My question was simple :

I don´t care if Consulates take 5/10/15 years or my life time to process my application(I mean I do care in a personal way but I understand that is something we poor would-be immigrants have no control over). All I am asking for is accurate information in this regard.A Customer/Client Service process that caters efficiently to the questions of the applicants. Is that asking for too much ?

I mean I mailed my application/fee 5 months ago and till date I could not be sure that it was not lost in the mail had I not contacted my bank to find out if the cheque was encashed.

Somebody put a very pedestrian opinion - "Nobody forced you to apply - So why are you complaining".

Nobody forces me to go to Walmart either. But when I pay them money, I demand service....at least the frickin receipt for what I buy...

The buffalos sure had the time/resource to encash my cheque but they did not seem to be too busy to mail back a receipt.

The tone and wording of your original post is completely different from what you say now in this post, and the previous replies are not simple as you said in this post!

Man, you are altering the story by presenting only part of the picture!

Kanaada,

Are you sure you application is not being processed? I mean at times the mail is delayed or lost. Yes, it is frustrating. My medicals we lost or maybe misplaced someplace.

It made me really frustrated on the day I got the letter from CIC informing my medicals have not been received. However, they did not completely dismiss the case they asked me information about when and who took my medicals; which I faxed promptly.

I agree; there are certain changes which can be made - like when we prepay about 350 US$ for medicals and handling charges we can also pay additional 20-30 US$ to have it sent by courier only; which CIC should make mandatory.

However, I´m sure there is a confusion at your end. Check with CIC (by faxing) stating your concern and hopefully someone will get back to you.

As a matter of fact...there is no confusion.

I understand that there are many other folks who are in exactly my situation i.e. waiting for the damn AOR five months after mailing the application.

My problem is why was I not told that it will take so much time just to get an AOR. And why isn´t there a good Customer Service Number that I can call to find out the status of my application or to redress any other grievance applicants may have.I hear from members that many times they don´t respond to faxes.

Someone(preferable our resident Immigration expert SHARON) please show me a link to where the above information(about AOR timeline) is and I WILL REST MY CASE.

Ok, it?s weekend over Lower Mainland, there is tons of nightlife, let Sharon enjoy her weekend please. Not like me, Nanaimo guy, we don?t have nightlife in a small town. Well, my kid has already gone to bed. I am too busy with my business stuff, just finished those shit. Gonna grab a cup of green tea and answer you guys question.

?My problem is why was I not told that it will take so much time just to get an AOR.?
Simple answer, there are too many cases, lack of staff, lack of funding, according to sustainable immigration policy, they can?t speed up process.

? And why isn?t there a good Customer Service Number that I can call to find out the status of my application or to redress any other grievance applicants may have.I hear from members that many times they don?t respond to faxes.?

According to privacy act, they can not answer you by phone.
There is one year backlog period, if your money order was cashed, just relax please. CIC is not call centre, there is no customer service this kind of stuff. You can?t expect ?homeland security officer? as a guest service in hotel, simply CIC would not put itself in that position too.

There is backlog voice record in the voice mail, please go to check it out

Dear Kaanada,

It is a long time for getting your AOR. I can only say that you should send a fax or a letter to them (recorded). A normal time frame would be more like up to 3 months. However, you do not know whether they have sent it or not unless you send your enquiry. It may be lost by the post.(or take forever like my mail does...2 months from Canada sometimes). They would not know you have not received it unless you contact them. They apparently do not have a phone contact for enquiries because of the volume of unneccessary calls they would receive if they would have. Also it will take them longer to find a file with your name only, because they track them by File number. You will need this number for your future correspondance with them, so please send them mail or fax asap for your own benefit.
