But if you are in Canada then you can talk to some lawyer... if not then try e-mailing some lawyers in Canada and try checking it for yourself.
Remember one thing...like in Sept 2003 the CIC changed its rules and as per the new rules if a lawyer or a consultant wants to represent you or give official information they have to be associated with CIC in some form. They are to be certified by CIC or something like that to give you official information... so do not fall under traps of any joe-jack.
There is this lawyer Mr. Dennis Caul (e-canada immigration advisory at www.e-ca.ca) he helped me asnwer a few questions on this forum itself. He was pretty efficient to talk to as well on the phone.
