Subject: Clarification Required
  Hi Friends,
I am preparing application forms to submit Canadian PR. With regard this, I required clarification for the following.
1. Form "IMM5406E" (Additional Family Info) - whether it required to fill by both English as well as Native Language (for me, it is Tamil). If so, i am not able to find any space in the form after fill in english. whether I need to submit additional sheet with Native Language Family Information?
2. Form "IMM5476E" (Use Representative) - whether I need to submit this form with "N/A" mark since i am going to submitting this form without any representative.
3. I am working in Singapore (but indian citizen). Whether I need to get Police certificate for both Singapore & India. If so, how to get police certificates. In the Main Guide- Appendix B, I come to understand that "for obtaining police certificate, a request from high commission is required". what it means? any experience?
4. Settlement Funds - whether I need to show the bank statement while applying the application or when they requested? how long i need to retain this amount in my savings a/c ?
5. For photocopy of passport, all pages required? or only first and last pages as well as visa pages only? is any experience with sending only selected pages as per their request in guide.
Expecting your valuable reply. Thanks.

Hi Subra

Hope the following will help.

1) Additional Family Info. : If you read carefully it says "Complete All names in English and your Native Language...." ALL NAMES only and not other info. like Address, Place and Date of Birth etc...

2)Use Representative : You need not to submit this form at all as you do not have any representative or lawyer.

3) Police Certificates from Singapore and India : From where you are applying ? If you are in Singapore longer than a year than you have to apply from there else India. Gey PCC from Singapore and India and also from the countries you might have resided more than a year after your eignteenth birthday. To get PCC from Singapore check with local authorities like Police Station. To get PCC from India while in Singapore check Indian Embassy/Consulate (in Singapore)website.

4) Bank Statement : Show at the time of application and also when it is requested by CIC during processing your application. You have to have require fund (depending on your family size) readily available for transfer to Canada when you move to Canada. One´s bank account can fluctuate. Be prepared to submit past few months (may be six) statements to CIC when requested and you should have enought fund to show them ...again depending your family size.

5) Passport pages : No. All passport pages are not required. Copy only those pages which have your Information like Date of Birth, Address, Passport issuing Authority, Issueing Date, Date of Expiration. If you have Indian Passport Front and Back Inner two pages would have all your informations.

Yes native names are required and yes you can attach a sheet and title it with the part number

2. Form "IMM5476E" (Use Representative) - whether I need to submit this form with "N/A" mark since i am going to submitting this form without any representative.

Do not submit it

3. I am working in Singapore (but indian citizen). Whether I need to get Police certificate for both Singapore & India. If so, how to get police certificates. For India yes you need one. From Singapore you need one if you are there for over 6 month.

To get the Indian one, go to your local police station, request a Singapore one and submit it to your Indian consulate or Embassy in Singapore, they will issue an Indian one for you.

4. Settlement Funds - whether I need to show the bank statement while applying the application or when they requested? how long i need to retain this amount in my savings a/c ?

Both are OK. They do not check money retainage in the bank,. They just check the statement.

5. For photocopy of passport, all pages required? or only first and last pages as well as visa pages only? is any experience with sending only selected pages as per their request in guide.

Photcopy only pages that has you data, photo and signature, plus the passport data itself (issue, expiry etc)

Good luck
