TO ALL
I was retained to assist with obtaining a release order for a Mother who was detained by CBSA. The client was not happy with her previous Counsel for what he had said during her previous detention review. I selected a different potential bonds person and obtained a release order for my client.
The detainee had been illegal for several years after failing to appear to receive her (PRRA) Pre Removal Risk Application decision. She was arrested because there was an outstanding warrant for her. My client had spanked a misbehaving child and that child told her Teacher. The Teacher called Children’s Aid & they contacted my client and asked for a meeting. She met with them with her child who also claimed Mommy sometimes spanks me. The Police came along and ran her name and she was arrested, CBSA called etc..
Now when she got released I informed her that there was nothing anyone could do for her to keep her in Canada. Her bonds person had told her she had to go home and if she agreed, he would post a sizable amount including a promise to pay bond (performance bond).
She was not in a loving relationship so sponsorship was not an issue. She had no high occupational skills and all that CBSA was waiting for was for me to find the biological father of her child so he could sign a Canadian passport application so she could take her kid with her.

The real good reading is what the Federal court said about this representative and let me first to thank the Federal Court for giving that Lady a second chance.
