My husband and I just purchased a to be built home in Manitoba.. We rented for more than a year(will continue renting until our house is finished). If you got the downpayment and right credit..start exploring your options.

The process is real simple... Find yourself a real estate agent and consult with them. Talk to them about your finances, your needs and what you are looking for in a house...
Drive around the neighbourhood in which you are thinking to buy.
research the lsitings on www.mls.ca and www.zolo.com, www.realosophy.com
