		| | | | Hi, I´m Canadian Citizen but haven´t return home for 6 years already. I´m now reside in Hong Kong and non-resident status already applied 6 years ago. Now I schedule to visit my family in Canada this May for 2 weeks and wonder if I should consider myself as a resident return home or visitor when I fill out the Custom Declaration Form as well. Thanks

     | (in reply to: Custom Declaration) You are not a visitor, you are a Canadian Citizen. Whether your country of residence is Canada or not.

     | Custom Declaration (in reply to: Custom Declaration) I am no expert on the question. However, my understanding is that you declared yourself as a fiscal non-resident with Canada Revenue Agency. As such, you remain a Canadian citizen but you are not subject to taxation on your income. Therefore, you are simply making a return visit to Canada (as non-resident visitors). If you wish, our Attorney can do a brief research and contact Canada´s Border Agency Service to make sure what to indicate. If so, contact me directly: info@immigrationfaq.ca

     | (in reply to: Custom Declaration) When I last visit back to Canada, the customs consider me as a vistor even I am holding a Canadian Passport. They asked me WHY I COME TO CANADA and what did I bring to Canada as a gift as well.
 That´s why I wonder....
