Subject: Need help with Sponsorship question
My question is related to the sponsorship program to migrate, i have a brother living in CA already a permanent resident and about to be citizen, he wants to sponsor me and my wife for permanet resident, however our mother live with me and she cannot stay alone in my country El salvador, so we are wondering if it would be possible for him to sponsor me and the I include my mother in the list of people that will come with me to canada (me, my wife and my mother), or if he will have to sponsor our mother first and then sponsor me. thanks for the help

Your brother cannot sponsor you. He may be able to sponsor your mother next year if he meets the requirements to be a sponsor - but he can´t sponsor you and your wife.

If you and your wife wish to immigrate to Canada then you will have to qualify independently (e.g. as skilled workers).

i thougth it could be done that way, then it means that my brother wouldneed to submit 2 separate applications base don the guide as per this option.

you can sponsor

any other person, regardless of age, with whom you have a family relationship if you do not
have a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, son, daughter, mother, father, brother,
sister, grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew who is a Canadian citizen, a
registered Indian, a permanent resident or whom you may sponsor as a member of the family
class.

That´s right: Your brother cannot sponsor you. He may be able to sponsor your mother next year if he meets the requirements to be a sponsor - but he canīt sponsor you and your wife.

well thanks, then that means i will have to try with skilled worker option.

also talked with CIC and they told the the same that case could be used if our mother and father were not with us anymore but since our mother is still alive we cannot look for that option, my brtoher will try to ask for our mother next year thanks.

As Shawn said your brother cannot sponsor his siblings unless he is not married and no any relatives in Canada and his both parents are deceased.

If you apply under federal skilled worker category you can earn additional points for having a brother in Canada.
