(in reply to: how to apply for citizenhip) Based strictly on the current rules, the earliest you can apply is 2 years from the day of your landing. However, rules are about to change soon and you will have to accumulate 4 years of physical presence in Canada before you can apply for citizenship. So you are looking at applying some time in 2017.

Then, you must have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before you apply.
That is the law so far.
