Hi
I´m actually a Canadian citizen although I have lived most of my life in the UK. I´d like to move back to Canada with my fiance before we both get too old to make a new start somewhere (we´re in our late 30s).
I don´t think he would gain entry on his own merits but I think I can qualify to sponsor him. Has anyone done it that way and how difficult is it to sponsor someone that wouldn´t score highly on a points system?
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone has.
A.

(in reply to: Moving to Canada) You can sponsor him for permanent residency as your spouse provided you are either married or have lived together at the same physical address for a minimum of one full year (and can prove it).

Strict rules, will be needing proper documents. (in reply to: Moving to Canada) Yes, it is right that you can sponsor him for residency, but there are also so many obstacles. One main thing is, as you said you have been living in UK for so many years, so have you revoked your citizenship in last five years? As the marriage has happened outside Canada, you will need a loads of documents to prove the relationship.
Hina, I think this blog might give you an idea. http://www.canadaupdates.com/content/how-many-immigrants-does-canada-let-each-year-19966.html
