Subject: IMM 1000
Hi, maybe someone here can help me with this question. Lots of good information on this site.

I am applying for my Old Age Security and need my IMM 1000 or otherwise known as Canadian Immigration Identification Card to prove the time my residence in Canada began. I thought it was long since lost, but started looking the other day and actually found it. I came to Canada and became a Landed Immigrant in 1969 and became a citizen in 1978. After that time, I never used the card again or needed it. Anyway, what I am asking, is I read that the card (at least in recent times) is stamped "The holder is no longer a permanent resident" after citizenship is granted. My card was never stamped with anything when I was granted citizenship back in 1979. Does anyone know if that was the case back then or was something missed? Just wondering incase Service Canada asks why it was not stamped since I am listing on the form that I am a citizen and including a copy of my citizenship card. I have no idea why its not stamped with some sort of notation unless they did not do it that way 35 years ago when granting citizenship? Never even gave it a thought back then.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Stop worrying what they may ask you until you are asked!

Your passport would be stamped when you got PR status. You initialed in three places and signed the IMM 1000.
