Hi guys..
I am thinking of applying for Quebec Immigration as it is much faster and easy too.. I had been in Montreal for almost two years. I started my Masters there but didnt like the university n my research area. I shifted to a University outside quebec. Iam here for two months now. I would like to apply for quebec immigration now.
As iam in a province other than Quebec, i would have to apply to the New york office too. I would like to know the chances of getting immigration in New york office. Is the interview fully in french? How long does it take to get immigration thro Quebec?
ANyone here is applying to Quebec.. please tell me.

Just to clarify- you don´t apply "through Quebec". You still submit an application through the federal government, and the feds forward your application to Quebec, who then approves/rejects your application and sends it back to the federal government for final processing. So in my experience at least, applying through Quebec isn´t faster.

I applied thru quebec and the whole process took less than 10 months..

I am from Philippines. I have applied under Quebec and have already received my file number. But I checked from the canadian website that the waiting period is 18 months. The way I understand it is from the time we receive our file number. Please enlighten me on this. I really got upset ´coz I can´t afford to wait that long. I thought Quebec has faster processing of immigration. Appreciate your ideas. Thanks a lot!

Here is my timeline ... Oct 2004 applied to Quebec (through NY, but did not apply to Canada), got a file number almost immediately ... July 2005 got scheduled for my interview (in Montreal) ... September 2005 was interviewed (in Montreal) and received my selection certificate that same day ... will be sending my packet to Buffalo shortly (been getting my FBI and various state police reports)
