Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen and my fiancé is American. I would like to work in the USA over the summer months as well as part time next year (on weekends) while I finish my degree in Canada. I cannot find an employer who is able to sponsor me for a visa for such a part time job. If my fiancé and I get married, would I be eligible to work without having to get an employer to sponsor me? If so, how long would the process take for me to become eligible? And would it pose a problem that I am continuing my studies in Canada for the next 1.5 yrs, travelling back and forth between Vermont and Montreal - working in Vermont and studying in Montreal?
