|Subject: 5 years and am still waiting on prra application
I was being sponsored by my common law husband 5 years ago. He abused me to the point of me calling the police and having him arrested while my sponsorship application was in process. We separated and he withdraw the application.
I got a letter from immigration instructing me to leave Canada immediately which I didn´t. I was never issued or given a prra application or time to leave.
fast forward 5 years letter am still waiting.
I got married a 7 months ago to the love of my life. My question is, do you think I should stay in or leave Canada before my spouse apply to sponsor me?
I don´t have any kids. However I have been living in Canada for the past 11 years.
Am so worried.
Thanks in advance

For what PRRA you waiting for..!!??
You are staying illegally in Canada, There is an arrest order for you,
The love of your life can apply for an inland sponsorship for you or you live the country and apply from out of Canada
With the both options you will get arrest it

Hi - first, there´s no certainty from what you´ve said that you will get arrested because it seems that you likely received a letter from CIC (after the sponsorship withdrawal) telling you to leave - they don´t issue warrants at CIC.
What the CBSA will or won´t do, who knows, but you HAVE to get it together, get a good reputable immigration lawyer and look on-line and talk to trusted friends to get advice on who to hire as your lawyer - someone who will give you your monies worth.
You and everyone else has individual circumstances that have to be assessed when immigration authorities are deciding between the laws, regulations and policies (of which there are plenty).
Stop wasting energy worrying and get up and get busy as this is your most important issue and don´t let panicky-peter´s like "Stavrimacoku" spook you out.

You have to hire a good lawyer. You´re in trouble now because your a illegal, and for the immigration is the worst thing.
