Subject: common law query
My girlfriend and I are about to apply for Skilled Worker immigration from the UK. We would like to apply as a common law couple because, in the eyes of CIC, we get points for adaptability this way. However we have only been living together for 6 months and this is at her parents house so we have no bills, council tax or other documents in both names. Is it still possible to apply with one of us as a principal applicant and another as common-law partner, or will we have to apply as individuals but outline to CIC the situation and explain we want our applications considered together as if one gets accepted and the other does not neither will be going:-)

Any advice greatly appreciated

It is tough but its possible...
Just consider this case... by the time CIC will look into your files and give a decision it will be almost 1+ year for you guys to be togather... so it should not have any problems.

Explain your current situation to CIC in a nice forwarding letter along with your application... it should work out fine.
