Subject: Question regarding Decision Made
  Hi all,

I´m wondering if anyone can tell me how long it takes (from New Delhi embassy) to receive the stamped passport after "decision made" shows on e-cas. In our case, I know it means that a visa has been issued because we have found this information out from our MP. Does anyone know if it is a week, or 5 days or 2 weeks? Please let me know.

Many thanks for any information.
K

kavita i have a question for you , normally when they write decesion made they inform you before they do issue the visa is issued , in your case looks like they must have sent you a letter or your passport ,its the mail which is taking time, can you tell me one thing when did you got your medical done and when did you exactly submit your passport, are you in new delhi as i am in same boat sponsored my wife from canaad she has sent down her passport still not heard , when she got the medical , it tells you in the same letter to submit the passport
thanks

Hi there, I actually sponsored my husband from India. In our case, it took quite some time (several months) after they asked for the passport that we found out his visa was issued. He has not gotten the passport back although we saw "decision made" on Monday this week. I thought it only took a few days so I´m wondering what other experiences are. Of course we would like to book his ticket to come here but there is no point in doing that until the passport is in his hands.

I asked my MP in Canada - of course, we had already been waiting for so long and we weren´t getting the answers we needed from Immigration.

Hope this helps - still wondering if anyone can give me their experience with the length of time.

Thanks
K

hi
kavita
i live in toronto i sponsored for my wife , they have asked for the passport too which we did it yseterday how would mp knows that visa has been issued , is there some other network he uses becuase i have seen normally when you get papers in hand then computer changes to decesion made but in your case if decesion made was done before then why did chc new delhi took so long to ask for the passport

It takes only 4 days once you sent down the passport to get it back if he lives in new delhi if he is outside than it could take from 2 to weeks

Thanks Rahul. In India, they seem to ask for the passport ahead of time - as part of the process. It doesn´t always mean that the visa is issued though.

The MP doesn´t have a special network or anything but if you are convincing enough and it doesn´t seem to be a frivolous request (i.e. enough time has passed since hearing anything), they can sometimes do an inquiry for you by sending a letter to the embassy. It takes a few weeks to get an answer back but the embassy will generally respond directly to the MPs office - they don´t necessarily respond to applicants unless there is an excessive delay.

Thanks for your input on the number of weeks it would take to get the passport back.

Hi Rahul - no he didn´t get an interview but because he lived in other countries, it took longer for background checks. Thanks for the good wishes, I know that you too will be reunited with your wife soon too. No I´m not in Toronto, I´m in Edmonton.

How long after it says decision made do you receive a letter say what the decision is. Appliation was done in Buffalo.

Visa officer told me that I have few concern regarding your funds. He added I need to address the concern and he will be sending the letter in a week or a two. He didnot reject my application at that time. what does this mean if anyone can answer this. Its been just a day and I am still tensed.
