| Subject: Do they ask at detroit for Indian PC's? |
Hi, I have my interview scheduled in less than a month from today. I will not have the six weeks to do the police verification from india. Do they really insist on police certificates from india at detroit?

If they require the Indian PCC and you dont have it on the day of your interview they will ask you to mail it to them as soon as you get it. So dont worry about it.

Indian consulates in the U.S. also issue police clearance. There are several to choose from. For you I think Chicago will be better.

The Indian Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) is issued by Indian Embassey for people outside of India. I usually take one day or thirty day depending on here your passport was issued. Check their web site for details.

30 days is wishful thinking. Mine took a good two months even though the passport was issued from the same consulate. When I spoke to them they had told me that if the passport is issued at the consulate the certificate will be issued within two weeks - but after a lot of back and forth mine came finally a little after 2 months - so plan accordingly.
Remmember India begins the moment you enter the Indian consulate.

They gave me same day, mine was issued in Houston. Just check with indian consulate nearby.
