Subject: Is it matter where I am after submit?
hi, I submitted in July 2004 and got file No in Sept 2004 in USA. Now I am planning to go back to China since my OPT will be end by July 2005. My questions are:

1.Can I wait for it in China?
2.Is it will take much longer time in China than in USA?
Or no matter where you are , the processing time is the same after you applied in Boffalo.
3.Anybody received MED notice after got file No.in Sept 2004?

Here are my answers/suggestions....other forum members can throw some more lights

1.Can I wait for it in China? : Yes you can but you have to notify CIC an US address as if you have moved to different address within US instead of telling them your China Address. And when you receive medicals or other documents the person whose address you are using should send you those to you promptly. You can do medicals anywhere in the world using CIC published Designated Medical Practioners.

2.Is it will take much longer time in China than in USA?
Or no matter where you are , the processing time is the same after you applied in Boffalo. ---It seems that you are planning to transfer your case to China. I read on this forum that transfering case to other country is another procedure all together by paying some fees. I also read that CIC can transfer case in Special Circumstances. I also heard that you will not maintain the same processing speed when moved to other country.

3.Anybody received MED notice after got file No.in Sept 2004?....I applied in June 2004 AOR ..July 2004 waiting for my IA/Medicals.

One more thing to add

when you move to China and using friend´s/relative´s address in the US you have to come to US for Interview.

Thanks , Nanu. One more question. (in reply to: Is it matter where I am after submit?)
Nanu, Thank you so much.

As you say,"you have to come to US for Interview",
My question is :

1.Interview for what? Is it for checking my English proficency ? (I hope it could be waived because I have submitted some proof documents such as US MBA diploma.
I don`t want to transfer my case to China, so I hope
everything can be done in US as you said while I am
waiting in China.)

2.If not, Should the interview notice be reached to me before or after IA/Medicals? How long should I wait from now on? (As you know I have to go back China before July
if I can not find job before OPT end.)

3.As you know I have received file number,What`s the next and final pocedure? How many letters should I receive from
CIC?

Thanks.

everything goes to Sydney, Nova Scotia for initial screening. Then it is forwarded to your country of residence. Make sure you check out the new rules.
