What exactly is conjugal partner or common law spouse? Do you have to live together? My fiance is in US and he visits me every two months. We practically live together for a week every two months. I have hundreds of pictures of us, every single e-mail he sent me since 2003 and my phone bills since July 2004. We are getting married in August. can I sponsor him under "conjugal partner/ common law spouse"?

I think you have to be living together for a year and can show joint bills or leases. I would check with a consultant to see what their take is on it. Yo might have a tough go.

Sharon,
thank you for your reply. I guess I´m going to sponsor him after I get married. I spoke to my dear friend today who married a gal from Denmark. He said that his bro sponsored his wife after the marriage while was still in Canada and she was granted PR within 3 months. =)

they have come out with new rules in the last few days. If you can get both of you on the Canadian side of the border, and then get married... your partner can stay with you during the sponsorship/immigration process. That is for sure the best solution.
