The actual application form gives different information again. I do not know what to tell you. I am not telling you anything that is not factual in our case. Perhaps we will be waiting for 6 months for a PP request - but I doubt it. We asked specifically on Monday how long (on average) skilled worker applications were taking. I have passed on the answer. Is your file complicated? have you been asked for additional documents? are you applying through Quebec first? have you lived in multiple countries? All these factors affect processing.

Hi Sharon, my case is a normal case, nothing complicated, I have just been living in one Country and I´ve nothing to do with Quebec. I´ve applied through an immigration lawyer (a serious one) and my case is taking the time all applications take. So your case is the one that´s not usual.
Ask anybody here who´s applying through Paris. What does your AOR letter says about processing times? I really believe that they are not kidding about it.

Dalila, if you apply for Skilled Worker and your final destination in Canada is Quebec, process and processing times are different (shorter).
Check it for yourself:

OK... I guess we have horseshoes up our ass. Not sure why, but I am certainly not complaining. Hopefully your reality is closer to the information from the officer rather than what is on the letter.

Interesting. I just went on to the Paris website. When we applied there was a full Paris specific application. Now there is a general Skilled Worker application plus a Paris specific addendum. Our application had processing timelines indicated for Paris on the last pages. Those forms have now been removed from the website. Not sure if that changes anything. The standards on that document stated 7-13 months without interview and 14-22 with interview. We are on track with the no interview timeline.

very thankful.

Yeah I am inclined to go with what Sharon heard when she called the Paris embassy the other day. After all, the guy there would know and would explain if there had been such a catastrophic increase in the timeframe that it is taking night on 3 years instead of a year or so.

Anyway, do keep us posted on how you all get on and if you find out any new info. Maybe we can get some idea in teh next few weeks...!

You´re right Sharon, the application kit specifically for Paris is gone...wonder why but I guess those timelines might have been a bit too optimistic.

Just this question, when I received the AOR lettre there where the letters " EQB" right after my file #. Could that be the initials of the officer handling the file ? and would it be possible to have get ´em on the phone ?

the only reason we got to an officer was because we had a major problem with the file. Not sure how normal that was.
