  hello sharon,

we don´t know each other, or actually not yet :)

i was reading your answer to david about paris , and you mentioned applying through Quebec ?
is that a problem , or that it cause more delay in the processing time

i am in the usa now , apllied through an immgration consultant in Montreal for skilled worker
according to my understanding , we applied to quebec first , got approved, then started the federal process.
everything went smooth until i did my medicals in june 16th 2004, and i am still waiting for the passport request
is this normal ??? iam really starting to worry ???

your answer will be much appriciated

thank you in advance

After receiving CSQ you need to start processing through the federal system. That part should go real fast since the only thing they´ll have to do is medical and security checks.
Overall processing shouldn´t take longer than 7 to 12 months, depending where you lived before.

I was looking for possible reasons that we were having such time discrepancies with Paris. John is right about Quebec. The Federal process becomes fast tracked after Quebec selection.

That said, Buffalo still must do the medicals (which you have done) and your background check. Do you have any confirmation that medicals were received? when? Perhaps your background check is getting caught in an overloaded system. If I have learned anything about CIC is that there is no such thing as normal.

I think your first step is to confirm that your medicals got sent.

CSQ (in reply to: to sharon about paris)
Hi Sharon,

I just forwarded my application to Paris for a CSQ - 7 July 2006, do you think how much time shall I anticipate a reply from them. As I read, once the CSQ is granted, the federal becomes more easier. So overall, could you please tell me the total processing for both parts will take how much time. I am a Mauritian and I came to Madagascar since the 12th of February 2006 to work. Do you think it will delay the process, since I am not staying I am not in Mauritius?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sanjeev
