| Subject: how long does it take processing |

Hi everyone,
I found many guys here waited for three more years for the visa, does it really take so long? I filed my documents to hongkong and people told me it wouldn´t take more than two years, but it seems it does take an incredible long time. Is it possible that I might wait for four years? Thanks for shedding any light. good day.

I applied from New Delhi- India in July 2000 and still waiting for VISA.

it should normally takes 2 yrs to the most if you filing outside india but if you are filing within from india it takes 5 yrs nowdays
the best thing is try to speak to a immigration officer in new delhi and see what they have to say

The total noumber of applications pending is alawys increasing... its never decreasing... so yeah if you say that right now its taking 4 years to get the visa by the time your application is reviewed and processed... you could be waiting even longer... its very much likely unless some miracle happens and CIC desingates more officers and get the work done faster...
Now even if the CIC process it faster what about the counter parties- like the authorities in other countries... they need their support too... if the delay their work then cic cannot do anything...
A good example is Indian Police Clearance. If the authorities do not give the certificate in due time New-Delhi CIC cannot do anything about them... and so the case will be delayed... and from the number of Indian population applying in Indian and from outside India its going crazy for CIC from all places...
Its nuts how things work with them...
But I have always said this and I´ll say again... Immigration is not a hard proceedure... its just a time consuming process...
I have applied in March 2004 and I think I have a long long way to go....

all i will tell you , that do not rely on the immigration too much , continue to do what you do , because you are not looking yourself in canada till 2012 (if everthing goes ok)things will definately change by that time , do not spoil your life just to come to canada and all golden yrs of life will be gone
so relax and enjoy the life
