Subject: Change of Address
Hi, I have applied for skilled worker at CIC Buffalo. I applied in October 28th 2004, I checked and they have cashed my check on Nov 2nd 2004. But till now I havent received my AOR. Now I have changed my address. So will I be able to track my application or File# without an AOR? How can I track my file# now if my AOR is lost in the mail or I never get due to my new address change. Please advise everyone. Thanks.

the best thing you can do is put a redirect notice on your mail through your post office until you are sure everything is as it should be. The other thing is to inquire if anything has been delivered to your old address!

But Sharon, My question is what if the AOR has already been sent and I have lost it (like if the AOR was returned to sender or if it was lost in the mail). How do I go about it in this scenario. How can I possibly get my File#. Thanks.

these are the only solutions I can think of...

1)write them a letter and tell the situation - see if you get some results.

2)do the redirect on your old address. at some point you will get correspondence which will give you the file number and you will be able to do a change of address notification. Hopefully that first correspondence is your AOR.

I am not sure where you are from but in my country, I would be talking really nice to the people that moved into my old house. Maybe someone else has a good suggestion. Mine are not very encouraging.

I will say they haven´t mailed you AOR yet. Please check buffalo tracker. You can tell still lots of Oct 2004 people haven´t got AOR yet. This is the biggest possibility.

Furthermore, if you live in Canada and already changed address. The only way you want to be worried free is please go to your local Post Canada office. Asked for changing address, about 33 dollars plus GST for half year. They will re-direct your mails to your new address. After you got your AOR, you can consider fax or write mail to CIC and tell them you changed address.
