Subject: Denied entry
The last thing I expected happened... Last night, Immigration officer at Rainbow Bridge port of entry refused my entry to Canada on the grounds of a pending PR application... It seems like all the forces of destinty are playing against us... I feel completely devastated by the whole system.

oh no,what´s the reason for denying entrying? if he got PR visa or he is some citizens don´t need vistor visa.
Could ozz tried some remote area and see what´s going on? or do they have record?

don´t worry Yijie. Ozz has already tried everying. It is all about stupid rules, sponsorship, and pending application approval. He might try another border crossing but he likely does to want add extra problems to his PR. all he wanted to do was see his wife. Last night it was too much to ask.

what a stupid rule, i hope let´s ask people who have same situation, please come forward and unite together, ask media help. Only people who have same situation unite together, and then MPs can hear you

Yijie,

Do not forget these are the rules that have been approaved and actually sometimes "defended" by people like you (check your posts a couple of weeks ago). My friend, if people like you or others who did not give a damn about other "humans" had protested these cruel rules, now Ozz would have a better situation. Believe me dude, we are all resposible. God damn CIC. God damn immigration!

I am going to present CIC and the government of Canada´s position for just 1 minute (only 1 minute)Let´s leave Ozz out of this scenario. He has been through enough.

Consider this and answer honestly. you have applied for PR to Canada and you are waiting for an answer. Your wife/husband is living in Canada somewhere.

question 1) if you get on the Canadian side of the border - and your visitors visa runs out...would you voluntarily leave the country?

question 2) if CIC declines your PR for some reason...would you leave the country voluntarily.

CIC would suggest that 9 out of 10 applicants would say screw CIC and simply remain ilegally in Canada. I know I probably would.

That is why the border staff are such assholes. They know what 99% of us would do in the same situation - including themselves. They are not there to be nice. They are there to uphold Canadian law.

In the mean time...there are hundreds of partners overseas (like mine) that do not even get a chance to run the border. they just get to sit there and attempt visitors visas to no avail. I have not seen my partner in almost 18 months so please don´t suggest that I do not understand.

the process stinks.

Sharon - you are wrong in your views (in reply to: Denied entry)
Here I have to agree with Anonymous. If you - the "Canadian Citizens" were to write to local newspapers; TV Stations etc. enough there is going to be a debate.

After who are the law makers - the people who you choose.

Technically the answer to your questions sharon is YES - if you are so bothered about being with your spouse why not go to his country? He is in France with a MS computer Sc. so a wait there is not that bad after all. I could have understood if it were in some 3rd world country.

CIC has to make sure that you are not getting him in for money; after all this would not have been the first case.

I´m sorry for being that blunt. You need to be practical. IF IT were a free for all entry for all you can marry or sponsor - then Canada would become one spot for all people with money to get in easy way.

just for the record...he does not live in France. He actually lives in Tunisia.(his immigration embassy is Paris) Most folks (including him) consider it a 3rd world or developing county. While I am frustrated and disappointed in my own situation, I can understand it.

For me/him to go/come for a visit is a $2,700 plane ticket. More important to get his Skilled Worker application processed and survive on telephone calls. Can´t do everything.

For me, the fiance visa would have been helpful. It does not exist any more. Instead he will come on his own merits. In the end, it will be better all around, but the waiting has been endless.

I´m kind of curious why oz didn´t just stay in Canada and file from within Canada while living with his wife. That is what I´m doing now with my hubby and 9 mo old daughter and was just granted a year extension to my visitor record.
