Subject: Proof of funds
If both me and my spouse are currently working in Canada on work-permits and have permanent positions, do we still have to show proof of funds. Could someone please advise? The CIC website says you don´t, but I am still unsure.

I have been working in Canada for almost 2 yrs full time when I started applying for my PR, I already got my COPR last March 2005 and during the processing they have never asked me for a proof of funds. But I have a coworker that had applied for PR right after her 1 year of work and the Immigration have asked her for proof of funds. I dont know if its the timeline that you have been here in Canada already working as full time that makes them decide to ask you for proof of funds. Anyhow, you dont need to provide it right away during your initial application, they will just send you a letter later on if they need that.
