Talking about standard of living, I wanna share my thought. You know what? Standard of living should not describe as how much money you earn, how much money you spent in Holland American, princess Cuba something like that. It should talk about something like how many homeless people in the country. How much money will be spent in healthy care and education in the next year?

I am pretty sure more Canadian have happy life than anywhere in the world. When we talk about happy, it means less pressure, more family oriented. How poor people and senior are looked after.

I guess we should declare war on someone so we can stimulate our economy.

That might be -- but when it comes to QUALITY OF LIFE, Canadian cities consistently rank in the top five in the world. Basically you have less money in your pocket, but you live a happier life in Canada.

it is ironic that our economy slows a little bit because our currency becomes strong. It is strong because we have a balanced budget! Never imagined having a healthy spending plan would mess with our standard of living - so much for economics.

Because of U.S dollars are declining, gave US a fuel injector. For long-term development, I don´t think it´s a wise choice. I found U.S still has to worry about their pension stuff. For us, Canadian pension plan, we have already resolved this problem for a while.

Hi all,

Thought this might be intersting toreaders of this thread. This survey was publihed by Swiss bank, UBS, comparing prices and wages in major cities across the globe. It look at purchasing power too. Sadly, only Toronto and Montreal are inculded from Canada but it makes for some interesting reading.

Here´s the press release spiel:
