Subject: What is involved in background checks??
Now, the interview is over!! its background checks now??
i am just wondering that if every police certificate is clean, wat more are the CHCs gonna check??
and wat is not revealed by the police certificates that is there to check?? they are just worried that the person to whom they r gonna give the visa, is not a criminal!! And that is disclosed by the PCs, right?
wat do they check in this background checks and why do they do so? i have a spousal sponsorship in process and my interview was successful.
anyone??
thanks

you have supplied police clearances from your countries of residence. Now Canada checks if you have been behaving yourself in non-resident countries. Welcome to the world of Post 9/11.

credit has nothing to do over here , some criminal check from the embassy can take 2 to 3 months becuse they have send your report interpol

I am afraid if your home country has lack of information accessibility, it will take up to one year or more. Bad credit has no relationship with CIC.

In your original application, you are supposed to provide all the info about where you lived after turning 18 years old ... if you have hidden some info, not sure if they will be able to find out.

Of course they can´t find everything they want, however depend on what kind of information you tried to hide. If they believe you have" weapons of massive destruction" base on some evidence you provided, then, there is" weapons of massive destruction here.

I think we would be shocked about what goverments can find out about us. Ever heard of ´watch lists´

If CIC determined that Yijie has unstable personality, there is possible that I will be informed that I will be watched. Never underestimate how much information CIC has. By the way what is ??watch list???

watch list is a international database of names. Quite often they contain names of individuals involved in groups like Hells Angels, terrorist groups, organizations that fund terrorists etc. airlines use them all the time. why do you think they want your passport!
