Subject: IA and Medical Notification
I have these questions on IA (Initial Assessment) and Medical notifications.

1. In case, an interview is not required, does Canadian Consulate send IA and medical notification together?
2. Although there are 4 people on the application, can one person take the medical and rest can do it later?
3. How long you can delay the medical?

Hey DC right question at the right time. I got my IA and medicals today.

1. In case, an interview is not required, does Canadian Consulate send IA and medical notification together?

Answer : I got both together. The exact wordings are : We have now completed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview. While an interview does not appear necessary at this time, we reserve the right to call you to an interview, should this become necessary at some future stage in processing.
And medical information says : We have included immigration medical forms and instructions. Please proceed with your medical examinations within the next 60 days.

2. Although there are 4 people on the application, can one person take the medical and rest can do it later?

Answer : We are four ...one in US and three in India. I will do my medicals in US and other members of my family will do it in India. So medicals will not be done on the same day. My guess is DMP in US (in my case ) and DMP in India will send results to Ottawa, Canada and as each applicant having different forms with Principal´s applicant file no, Ottawa othorituy will not have much problem in putting all four applications together (hopefully).

3. How long you can delay the medical?

Answer : 60 Days ...refer Answer 1.

Thanks Nanu. I guess we are in the same boat. We are a family of four. My AOR is Aug 9 and I am expecting IA/Med any day now. Problem is we are leaving for India in next 2 weeks. I will come back but my family will stay in India for some time. I am kind of worried if my family has to travel back in next 2-3 months back to US for medical.

If you want, we can share our experience on the phone. If you think its appropriate, you can contact me on dcchopra@hotmail.com.

Hey DC

If you get your medicals in next two weeks I mean before going to India than it is good so you all can do medicals in India contacting DMP in your region. Good Luck.
