Subject: after getting PR can the person leave Canada?
hello, sorry for maybe a stupid question, but at the moment i cant find the answer.
If a person just got PR, can they leave Canada to live somewhere else for some time? If they do, do they lose PR or is there an amount of time they can leave for without losing PR??
Thanks

Information.... (in reply to: after getting PR can the person leave Canada?)
Residency requirements for permanent residents::
As a general rule, you must accumulate two years(730 days)physical presence in Canada in every five-year period in order to keep your permanent residence status. You may count time outside Canada towards your residency obligations if:
*You are accompanying a Canadian Citizen souse or common-law partner, or a child accompanying a parent, or
*You are employed on a full-time basis by a canadian bussiness or the public Service of Canada, or
*You are accompanying spouse, common-lae partner or child of a permanent resident who is outside Canada and who is employed on a full-time basis by a Canadian bussiness or the Public Service of Canada.

guys u seem to be mistaken,
first to maintain ur permenent resident u have to stay in canada at least TWO years out of five years u got..then u can renew ur permenent resident..and if u wanna applay for the canadian citizenship then u have to stay in canada three years in the LAST four years...
