Hand write a letter (make sure you have done a spell check) explaining about yourself and your academic and professional experience. Basically a CV however in a essay type. That will take care of write, read and of course your speach will be tested at the interview.

Most likely your interview will be waived as you have been in the US for last 5 years.

Raj,
I think you can send the letter rightaway. If anything, the letter will be used to waive an interview. If all they needed to do was test the written skills, they could have asked you to bring the letter along. But if the letter can convince them that the language skills are good, I would imagine that they will waive the interview (if they donot feel the need to verify any other information). But it is surprising that they need proof of language skills from someone who has spent 5 year in US.

Can you also pl post your time lines? Specifically the time from when the file was transferred for interview to the scheduling of interview. My file # appeared on the Detroit website last week, and I would be very curious to know when the scheduling of interview will happen.

Thanks,

KG

Thanks Raj...
My interview is scheduled at Detroit. But I think the lead time between the interview letter and the interview will be the same for all locations - about 2 months.
