Subject: Sponsoring Parents from Bangladesh
  Hi everyone
I have sponsored my mother and my brother as her dependent child (20 yr at the time of application) in May 2002 and it is being processed at Singapore visa office. Since then, all she got is a letter from Singapore stating that "we started processing your case since July 10". They also attached a document stating the timeline which states that if interview is required, the total time frame would be 16-36 months. To date, she has not received any further correspondence. I know a few people who sponsored their parents and it usally completed in 20 months. Not sure what happened to my mothers case. Can anyone shed some lights on what may be the reason for the delay and if there is something I can do check the status. Thanks

Rashed

The parental sponsorship program is experiensing huge delays now.
In Singapure, the current processing time is about 3.6 years. See:

If you are interested to try to change it, go to
http://sponsoryourparents.ca.
Sign the petition:

and if you are in Toronto, come to the demonstration this Friday.
