Yijie shared a story a few days back about 4 Mounties (police offices) that were ambushed by what we now know was a very deranged and dangerous man.

On Thursday, Canada stopped to pay tribute to these 4 men who gave their lives in service to their community and country. In one city alone, 13,000 people including 10,000 police officers packed into an arena to pay their respects. There was a parade preceeding the service and the streets were lined with adults and children that stood silently. This was repeated all across the country. The pictures on the television last night were incredibly moving when all you could see was red uniforms and children with small Canadian flags.

The country you wish to call home is a peaceful country. We respect and appreciate those that look after us. It was a very sad day, but a very wonderful day to be a Canadian and live in this great place.

Peace is all we can pray for in the world today. That is something which will ensure a better world for us and our children.

These several days, I don´t know why people are crazy, not only 4 cops were gun down. Also Over Maple ridge, not only street racing killed 3 people, also two days ago, one gas bar attendant tried to stop a unpaid customer and got run over, drag and face down for 7 km. Dead! Can you believe one guy was dragging for 7km and face down, gee; this is even terrible than a hell.

Ok, today before yesterday over Toronto, one protest guy drove a Budget full-size van and hit two cops?? cruisers and set fire and burnt himself.

Oh boy, we got so many problems these days.

Sharon:

It was amazing to see the way the country, along with the Prime Minister Paul Martin, paid tribute to those four RCMP officers. I was part of the parade in Edmonton yesterdday which started just by our deparment building. You may find some of those pictures at the UofA website.

By the way, if any guys of you want to watch the whole ceremony, it??s actually available over cbc.ca. CBC national, I just finished watching it online yesterday evening.

And the song is Canadian National Anthem. Here is the lyric.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

My tributes (in reply to: Canada has a broken heart)
Those were brave men and my heart goes to those officer´s families and survivors. May destablizing forces and unfortunate incidents like this could never harm Canada and may this beautiful conuntry remain open, free and liberal land like always.
