So here is the deal...
They began to process my application for Spousal Sponsorship Permanent Residence [In Canada] on March 2. They received my application in mid-december.
Once they begin to process the application, how long does it take?
I hope not long because my case is very straight forward, as there are no children and I am an American with no criminal record or medical ailments.
Any ideas?

Cangratulations dude, You are in Q now. What is your time line? did you get any correspondence regarding application received or something else?

Ok... here is my timeline:
Sept 17th, 2004: Married
Sept 19th, 2004: Entered Canada and receieved Visitor Record
It then took 1.75months to gather my security clearances from the FBI and Michigan State Police, along with my medical exam, and my wifes Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada.
Dec 15th, 2004: CIC received application packet
March 2nd, 2005: Application has begun processing
How long is an application in Que? I can´t imagine too long.
No I have not received anything stating that they have received my application.. atleast yet...

i am in a similar situation (in-Canada sposorship), how did you find out that CIC had begun processing your application?

Good Luck My Friend.
You will get First Approval in tageted 92 days from CIC than can you apply for Work Permit if you don´t have one right now. Hopefully in May-June you will get your PR.

Hi Dude ( In-Country)
It is easy to check on-line if they have or haven´t start your application to process by key in yout client ID, Last name, DOB and country of Birth, Thats what he done....

Hi Raj,
you are right - e-client is one way to find out if they are processing the application. However, the site says that the information will not appear at all before they have actually started processing, and right now they are processing in-country applications received up to sept.23. so i was wondering how can someone whose application was received in december know this.

E-Clien does not update. At least mine has not ever since I applied - which was last year.

If you applied after around Deember 10-15 your file must be under processing now. You can check at e-ststaus. Don´t pay attention to processing time..( Smile) by the waht is your time line? i mean when you applied?

CIC received my application in the end of December. I´ve been trying to check my status online, just like you said, but it tells me I dont exist in their records...

Yes I was also confused by what the application processing times are according to the CIC webpage. As someone brought up it days they are now processing applications received in Sept... So how in the heck are they processing mine which was received in mid-december?
Yes I did pay my landing fees completely all $1525 [I believe]. I have my medical and criminal background checks completed so it shouldn´t take too long... atleast I´m hoping.
