Subject: Lack of Settlement Funds during Landing
Hi All,

Have you heard of an incident in which a skilled worker immigrant was deported immediately because he was not able to present with the correct amount of SF?

no, but I would assume that is very reasonable expectation.

CIC probably asked you to present proof again, if you can´t do that, there is chance that your application will be denied.

I think you are asking about after PR has been issued and you are landing for the first time? Some folks report that the Immigration officer does not even ask, others say that they either want to see a Canadian bank account in your name with the funds in it, or that you have a draft, travellers cheques etc on your person. If you do not have the funds, they are within their jurisdiction to deny you entry. Once you have landed...CIC has no more say over your money. The last thing they want is for you to enter the country without the funds to support yourself so I would be prepared to come with the full funds.
