Subject: Nasty in Paris!
my fiance is getting impatient about his PR request. He called Paris today to see what the status might be. E-client is totally useless as you know. (we are finished medicals etc and are awaiting PR request)

At first their comment was -´be patient, we will contact you.´ Then came ´you can give us all the right information but in the end we still have the right to say no´

Of course he was devestated and saw it as a subliminal death sentence. I see it as someone tired of answering phones. Our file officer has returned to Canada so we are at the mercy of the system again.

As much as I feel for these Immigration Officers and the pesty inquiries and stupid questions... I wish they would not loose sight that applicants hang on every word and gramatical phrase.

The hard part for us now is that it could be 2-3 months before we know the truth. That is tough to take after waiting so long.

Sorry to hear that Sharon. That´s the kind of thing that it really doesn´t help to hear.

Like you say, it rather sounds like someone was on the phones too long today and got a little irritable.

Just hang on in there, you´ve made it this far... You really are that close now!

yep, it´s winter right now? how far is spring?
At this stage, be careful of blaming any factors, it will only make yourself and your finance pissed. Just relax, CIC officers just mean to us, otherwise what do you expect they gonna answer to you? Everything will be fine, don??t worry.

Well... (in reply to: Nasty in Paris!)
Everything depends on who you run into.Who is answering your phone call , what is their mood..I know it is frustrating and awful.
My personal experience was good. The calls I made were answered by friendly agents. I remember just one guy was a kind of cold and I decided not to call them again. I think they keep records of how many times you call them because the last time i Called this rude guy almost wanted to say:: Stop bothering us.
Anyways I am so glad everything´s over for me.
Sharon I know is difficult for your boyfriend and I felt the same way but I just would say::: You are close to get it that´s all what matters.
I think you made an excellent desicion by not sponsoring him and letting him come by his own merits. Many times even if the relationship is genuine the immigration process can really destroy everything.
Let´s say for applicants within Canada:: you are not allowed to work until you get the first stage of approval:: How come you can feel good with yourself if you feel powerless on making desicions, you don´t have money, you feel depressed because who the hell knows what is going to happen with your case and manytimes you are spending your life savings in order to be able to stay with your partner and not feeling like you are sponging him/her off???
All these details really can affect your mood and that can damage your relationship..
We can go on and on with this topic....
My guess is that you´ll be enjoying of his company before the summertime. Take him to the Sunshine Coast in the summer...Sechelt, GIbsons, etc There are many romantic Band Breakfats there..he´ll love them.
Good luck!!!

sunshine coast? that´s my areas, haha.
one more question, how comes you guys could make a phone call and there was a person picked up the phone, seems impossible over here except 1-800. They know nothing about processing case in Buffalo. They only deal with inland cases

something is really strange. the consultant that has been looking after our file is either on holidays or has left the Paris embassy to return to Canada. We spoke to someone new today. While all our documents are in order... the conversation was very bleak. discussion about Arabs and security concerns and how Canada has the right to refuse a PR even if everything appears in order. The officer went as far as suggesting my fiance should not be hopeful! If they will not let him in as PR... they will never issue a visitors visa, and spousal sponsorship could take another year... if they accept him! If they will not let him in with 74 points, a clear medical and no criminal record...why would they allow me to sponsor him?

How´s that for turning one´s life upside down. Here we have completed everything but RCMP clearance, and have been assuming everything is only a matter of time. Now this. Needless to say we are both very distressed. Time to get the CAIPS notes. Perhaps even time to find a lawyer.

That's ridiculous!!! (in reply to: Nasty in Paris!)
What they told you is ridiculous.Who the hell they think they are??They have no reason to deny his entry if he is not a criminal or something like that. What are the documented facts they are using as a back-up to say he can put in danger canadian society.
If they get nasty::you may have to use a lawyer.
Keep your faith up and but get ready for the Mother of all Battles.
