Subject: Interpreting CAIPS+Background check
  Greetings,

I?m on the 6th month after Medicals. I recently got CAIPS notes and was able to interpret about 70%-80% of information. However, I could not find any information on whether or not the background check got started. Many of the posters on this forum know that their background check is in process. Can anyone of those people share how they found that out?

My CAIPS notes bring forward date line states:
File BF?D TO: MKW on xxxx

Can anyone interpret that?

Appreciate your help

My timeline:
AOR: February 2004
Medicals and FBI clearance requested: August 2004
Medicals sent: August 2004
FBI clearance sent: October 2004

For background check look for something like this:
PLS FORWARD FILE TO .....FOR SECDEC.

(SECDEC means security decision).

Then: BCHK REQUIRED

Based on the previous posts I would say, IF THERE IS NO ACTIVITY IN YOUR FILE, your file will be brought to the notice of the immigration officer, MKW, on the specified date XXXX. The computer automatically alerts the officer on this date. However, if there is any new information entered in your application, then your file will be looked at an earlier date than the BFD.

Not sure how do you know about security check.

Hi Joe

I ordered CAIPS through:

http://www.caipsnotes.com/

You can order yours online. It will cost you $30 and take
about 6 weeks.

Good luck!
