Subject: Spouse Sponsorship commonlaw sponsorship
I´m a Canada PR, My boyfriend is currenly living in Hong Kong, he wants to move here Jan. 2005 (as a visitor first) and we plan to get married in August, 2005. I have a few questions regarding sponsoring him.

1. Can I sponsor him as a spouse/commonlaw partner in September 2005 (after the wedding) if we have not lived together for at least one year? What is the best way to do?

2. We have been in a relationship for about 2 years now, Can I or would it be easier to sponsor him now as a conjugal partner while he´s still in his home country? and how long would that take since he plans to come here early next year.

I appreciate any suggestions and advice. Thank you!

It is definately better to marry him and then sponsor him, the process is much faster, sometimes only 4 months
Good luck

commonlaw partner (in reply to: Spouse Sponsorship commonlaw sponsorship)
HI...I was qualified as a principal sponsor in canada for immigrant and i decided to bring my boyfriend of 5 years as my commonlaw partner. Were both living here in the Philippines and i live with him and his family quite sometime due in our business that we are the one managing it.But every week im going home to be with my own family. And now we are in stage of filling our documents. I have the following questions:
1. What are the requirements that will be needed to assist our application as commonlaw partner?
2.How long does it take to approve our application?
Thank You very much
