| Subject: Baby after medicals |

Hi all,
I have applied at CIC London and i completed my medicals in December 2004 along with my wife. My wife is now pregnant.
The concern i am having now is if the baby is born before the completion of the immigration process, will i have to do medicals for the baby to take the baby along with us and will there be furthere delay? If i choose to leave the baby back home and then again will there be any further delay in my process? And last but not least, if we get the process completed before my wife´s delivery, will there be any problem for us to have the baby in Canada?

Hi Bino,
You situation is almost like mine. I was applying the immigration process since 2001 in Buffalo. When my baby was born on June 2003, my immigration is still in the process and then as soon as I got my baby birth certificate I faxed it to the cic in Buffalo (I believe you have to inform CIC any family structure changes within 30 days). Then I got letter from CIC saying that I need to be interviewed and will be conducted in Los Angeles on January 2004. Went to the interview, takes about an hour and then the officer congratulate us, ask us if the baby already had medical check, I said no then he told us to go to cashier windows he will give us Medical Form for baby. Paid RFPR at the same time. Next day I went to doctor to have my baby medical check. it took them about 7 months since my interview to get PP request and now I´m living happily in Vancouver :)
So if you plan to bring your baby then you will need to inform CIC and then ask medical form for your baby also.
