Subject: whats the exact definitn of "1 yr work experience"
  - 5 months in home country + 10 months in Canada is more than one year?
- is there a official definition of full time/part time? what kind of part time job is accepted? e.g. hours per day, salary etc.
- do i need pay stub, tax form for the corresponding work experience in home country?
- in my home country, i was employed by a company for 5 months while i was still studying in college for the last term. is it accepted?
thanks

One year means One year - less usual holidays (which may be weekends, official holidays, a 10-12 days vacation - not a 3-4 months excursion).

20 Hrs or less per week is considered part time.
40 Hrs or more is considered full time.
Between 20-40 you need to add hours and divide by 40 to get the number of working full time days.

I hope all is clear now.

In your case - 5 months will be considered part-time. You were still a student while doing the work. Even if you argue your work in home country will be considered very suspiciously.

It is better you mark your self as half-time to at least get a half time qualification.

If the 10 months in Canada are ?full-time? after your graduation then calculate as following:

1) In Canada ? 10 months (Full time)
2) Home Country ? 5 months (Half time) ~ 2.5 months (Full time)

Total : 12 months and .5 months
There you go you have a full year.

Full-time work consist of 37.5 hours of work/week

So doesnt matter weather its full time work or part time work...

As long as you have 37.5 x 52 hours you qualify for 1 yr of full-time work.

37.5 (hours/week) X 52(weeks/year) = 1950 hours/year

So say roughly if you have about 2000 hrs of work combining all the jobs you have held in past 10 years listed on the NOC you can claim the 1 year of work experience...

Make sure that the jobs you held are specified in Category A,B or 0 of the NOC codes AND this work is withing past 10 years
