| Subject: Work permit whilst PR app in process? |

Dear all,
Can anyone tell me how to go about applying for a work permit whilst my skilled worker PR app is in process (if this is even possible). I´ve had my interview, medicals, paid fees etc - not sure how long it will be until I receive my PP request. I have a job offer in Canada (approved by HRDC) and have been contacted by the employer re when I can start.
The frustrating thing is, you are encouraged to obtain an offer of employment in Canada, are awarded additional points etc. However, we cannot even give the employer an idea as to when we can start. What employer is going to wait 1-3 yrs for example?? Sorry to moan - just worked hard to secure the offer of employment and now fear losing it.

I believe if you have a confirmed offer of employment then you application is "fast-tracked"; i.e. all your paper work is done within 3 months to get your medicals and if lucky your visa in about 5-6 months total.
So stop that and if you do have an offer mover your a** to apply asap!!

I agree with you... However how long has the whole process taken for you? I mean please share your time-line please.

HI FRIEND,
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME THE WAY YOU FOUND THIS EMPLOYER. WAS THIS DONE THRU SOME AGENT (PASS ME THE CONTACT) OR DID YOU DO IT THRU SOME WEBSITES.
I HAVE ALSO APPLIED FOR MY PR ON NOV,2003 AND SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT IF YOU GET A JOB OFFER AND AEO, THEN THE PR VISA GETS FASTER (IN JUST 5-6 MONTHS). OTHERWISE YOU KNOW IT MIGHT TAKE 1 - 2 YEARS MORE.
HELP ME IF YOU CAN. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES, MIGHT HELP ME AS WELL
