Subject: Taking Photos in US as per CIC spec. - Help please
I am currently in US and I am planning to apply for Canadian PR.
I am finding it very difficult to get the photos to the 35x45mm size stated in CIC as the standard US photo size is 50x50mm (2"x2"). I tried all the reputed shops/portrait studios and even digital picture. However, no photoshop is printing the picture to the size we want and they are suggesting to cut the picture.

I wanted to check with the forum members from US how they managed this for their application. Please help. I wish to trimming the photo as a last option. Thanks very much.

please take your instruction to Walmart, I did it over there, seems no problem.
Please be extremely careful about the size of photo, it might result you to have the whole package return

Hi All,
Thanks very much for all your inputs.
I am not sure what the real problem is in midwest.

I have tried Walgreens, Picture People, WOlf camera and all indicated that they cannot print to the size CIC expects as it is not a standard print size.

Was Walgreens/Wallmart/Sears (as indicated in the reply) photos able to actually print the CIC size without cutting the shoulder(width/height)from 2x2".

Please let me know. I will start another round of search as I have tried everything and all professional photo people say is it´s not possible without cutting.

Thanks very much.

I had mine done at a standard photo store printed in 2x2 and I cut it to the right size. Just make sure you give them the specification any photographer worth his camera can take pictures and cut them to the right size. not to worry cic accepted my photo without any issues.
