Subject: What is the minimum required IELTS score
I got an average score of 6 in IELTS with 6 in listening, 5.5 in reading, 6 in writing and 7 in speaking. Can I estimate 24 points in the language section or should I have to improve my score. Plz guide me. Thankx
Imran

It is not working this way (in reply to: What is the minimum required IELTS score)
Hello,

It doesn´t work like this brother, for each section of the exam if you got more than 7 you can award yourself 4 points. if it is 5 to 6.9 award yourself 2 points. The maximum number of points for the english language alone is 16 only out of 24. the remaining 8 points of the 24 is reserved for the other offical language -French-.
for more details see, www.cic.gc.ca and click on the skilled worker immigration category.

Hope it helps

Hi Imran,

You will get 10 points for English.

If you want to increase your points appear in IELTS again and try to get at least 7 in each section.

Thank you both. I also thought that this is not a sufficient score but what if I apply with this score and try to improve IELTS score later, will it be wise to do like that. Plz give some comments. Thankx
Imran

Obtain the total number of points you can get with this score in language. Ie; award yourself 10 point for the language then continue obtaining your points, If you got a total of 67 or up, then you can apply. If not my advice is not to apply at this time, check to see if you can improve your english capability, do the axam again and if you got the minimum number of points you can apply. DON´T FORGET, every case is different, if someone pass with 10 points in english, it doesn´t mean that you can pass by having the same points in english.

Hope you luck
