I have been in canada for a while after my refugee claim and appeal were denied. I have overstayed for a long while out of status and things are good at home now. I am ready to go back i have bought my ticket to travel back.
I don´t know what steps to take:
1. do i show up at the airport with my ticket go on the plane?
2. should i call immigration and tell them i am readyy to go, show them proof?(i am concerned detention, and all the other stuff -though i have a ticket).
Anyone who knows, please respond with suggestive steps to take in a situation like this.

(in reply to: departure , deportation) Just call the the immigration officer on ya file or u can call and ask of him or her and inform him that u want to leave canada for ya home country and inform him about the ticket u bought so they will be sure that u are realy leaving the country if u do this u can easily apply to come back under spouse or common law partner cartegory.
So they will need to make a photocopy of ya ticket and may be send an agent to escort u to the airport no detention for a volontary departure they will be happy to see you leaving volontary.
Good luck.
