In Feb, CIC Buffalo mailed an interview letter w/ an interview scheduled for Apr 05. We just had a baby, who is a US citizen. Regarding the PR application: IA, medical, background check etc are already over. The letter specifically says not to send any update prior to the interview. Provided the final approval is made on the date of the Interview, is it possible to get the child´s PR done at a later date ?

if it was me, I would take all the documents required to add your baby. I would even go as far as having a medical done. that way it is very easy for CIC to simply add your child. the worst that can happen is they say no. the best that can happen is that they see you are prepared and they automatically add the child to the PR application.

Hi,
That´s happen to me , you have to bring all your baby documentations (birt certificate, etc) and after the interview the immigration officer will ask you if you would like to add the baby to your application and he will give you medical form for your baby ( assume that you want your baby included in the application). It will slowing your process since they have to check your baby medical also.

My timeline for those interested:
Applied (Buffalo): Jul 2002
Initial Assessment (interview waived): Jun 2003
Medical/Police cert./Background Declaration: Aug 2003
Interview Scheduled: Apr 2005
As you can see that initially, the interview was waived but they changed their mind later. Now, I am gonna add my child on the application. Meanwhile, I have got an admission at Univ of Toronto for a part-time MBA begining May 05. Since adding the child will inevitably delay the case, I am thinking of asking for a visitor visa meantime.
What do you guys think?

I would. but I would also ask the officer what he would suggest you do! maybe he will get things moving a little more quickly for you.
