CIC gives every year approximately 220.000 P.R visas,
Approximately 250 working days per year.
They give every day 880 P.R. world wide.

When I calculated this I realized that I have to apply for P.R.

I do not know exactly how many embassy´s there are across the world but you start to get a sense of the volume of paper they must deal with and the inquiries they they must field. The number you quote are only the successful applications. we have to add on the ones that withdraw mid process that must be handled, and the ones that are rejected. I have no idea how many that adds to the total.
