Subject: RECEIVED AOR...HERE'S A COPY
Received AOR today. For all of you who are worried, Buffalo is working!! I sent my application for Fed. Skilled Worker and Buffalo received it on December 28, 2004. The receipt they sent me was dated January 4, 2005. The money order was cashed on January 5, 2005. The AOR was stamped March 15, 2005. The envelope was postmarked March 17, 2005. I received it in Minnesota today, March 21, 2005. I think the information is very straight-forward in the AOR letter. I see many questions about the AOR on this forum but I have never been able to answer them because I have never received one before today. I scanned the letter and copied the text to this posting so you all can see exactly what it says. I also check e-client. Some people were nervous because they received AOR but e-client didn´t show anything for them. Well, I checked my status. It worked for me. It says "In Progress - We began processing your application on March 16, 2005."
Anyway, here is the first side of the AOR letter:

This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received at the Regional
Programme Centre (RPC) and that a file has been created for you. Your file number appears above.
Quote this number when corresponding with our office. Your receipt for the processing fees is
attached.

The next step: Your file has been placed in a queue awaiting assessment. All applications are
processed according to the date on which they are received within the Federal Skilled Worker category. Once your file has been assessed, you will receive additional information and instructions. At that time, you may also receive medical forms with instructions.

WE CANNOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL IT HAS BEEN ASSESSED. (WE ARE CURRENTLY ASSESSING FILES RECEIVED 36 WEEKS AGO.)

Interviews: The letter advising you of the results of the assessment of your file will inform you
whether or not you will be required to attend an interview. Complete instructions
will be given to you at that time.

Dependants: You must advise us of all of your dependants, including children who will not accompany you to Canada or who do not live with you. Failure to do so may prevent your admission to Canada.

Everything seems straight-forward and clearly explained in the AOR and they even provide a form to contact them with any changes. I am astonished, after receiving the AOR, that people panic when they move, or fail to report changes in status as Buffalo clearly states what they want and how to do it. Good luck! You´ll get your AOR soon if you applied in December 2004.

Good for you Menino!!

Now the next process.
Just a piece of advise - begin your FBI docs process in another 4 months time.

We sent in the FBI clearances with the application. Buffalo now requires this as of October 2004. I appreciate the advice though!

Change of Family Composition (in reply to: RECEIVED AOR...HERE'S A COPY)
I am a Canadian Citizen and we just had a baby last Dec 2009 (in Canada) and didn´t get the birth certificate til now mid-Feb 2010. My hubby (US Citizen) just received this AOR today (pretty much almost same time as obtaining proof of baby´s birth). How much longer do you think will it be to process the change to finally "finalize" the permanent residency application?
