Subject: depended child
i was told that if one of the partners is outside Canada and when they apply for spose sponsorship and if there is a depended child involved, it takes like only 1 month to process, is this true? Does anyone know where this information is?

It all depends on where the applicant is. Local mission or post also has a lot to do on how fast the application moves.

Application from within Canada may move fast yes; but when transferred to local post for further process may take time.

Where do you reside?

it seems like only for those who are in Canada already, it takes 1 month, but from outside of Canada it is months and months... so sposes with depended children dont have any priority?
Just doesnt make sence for me.. i thought that 1 month it is exactly for those who are apart so to unite the family it is that quick?? like if my partner is in Canada, and i am in a different country. Im confused, guess i dont get something here

nothing outside Canada takes 1 month. adult still has to clear police and medical checks for both must be done. Medicals take up to 3 months to be done, sent and screened.

you mean getting police clearence and doing medicals??? that can be done before starting the sponsorship. And as about how long it takes for them to check things.. this is what im asking about.. if it is about having a dependant child, it should be done quicker and first thing of all... i just cant find any info about that

we all have ideas of how things SHOULD be done. It does not work that way. Have a look at the statistics put out by CIC. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/06-fc-children.html it says sponsoring a child from outside Canada is 4-11 months from a European country. 4-9 months for a spouse from a European country. Combination of the 2... assume it will be 4-9 months.

you still have to qualify to sponsor them first!
