| Subject: Minister Permit???????? |

I had interview on March 15, 2005. Officer told me i might need Minister permit before they issue me visa ( Spousal Sponsorship). I was in canada before. I didn´t have any criminal record. I just had deporation order cause my status expired. But i followed the order and left Canada.Does anyone have a similar case..and how long does it take to get minister permit. Please let me know . Thanks

Hi,
I can´t help u at this moment with your Quest. but would like to ask you (& of course the forum pundits) more about overstay.
Actually after my studies I was on a visitor visa; due to circumstances I was forced to stay beyond the date (just 9 days more) and then have applied for restoration of status and under which I am asking for another extension.
Can anyone throw some light on what CIC´s action generally is for a case like mine? As I am applying for my Immig. will it affect it adversely or it´s not a serious issue?
Guidance is appreciated...

By the way....how did u get your deportation order? How did the Gov. of Canada find you out? Did you get the deportation order after self confession?
According to my understanding if you over stay, u can leave Canada quitely at a later date and there is no way CIC/Govt. can come to know of your departure date. Am I right pundits or being ignorant fool???

My husband is going through the same thing right now. I´m Canadian and he´s British. We are presently living in the UK. He was deported in 2003. We want to go to Canada for a holiday but he will need a Minister´s Permit to re-enter for two weeks. We just sent in our application last week so I will let you know when and if I hear anything...just to give you some insight on how long it may take.

An anonymous caller called Immigration on my husband. He was 7 months over his stay. They detained him in a Toronto jail for two weeks. We tried to get him out on bail so he could make his own arrangements home cause once you´re issued a deportation order, it makes re-entering into Canada extremely difficult. Of course that didn´t happen and they made him leave on their terms. SO...even if it´s self-confession, they will ask you to leave. From my understanding, you´re suppose to apply for en extension before you´re visa runs out??

well my case it´s different. i didn´t have a warrant just cause my claim was refused they just say i have to leave so they gave me a ticket. i got on plane and i came i got no criminal record. Clean............

I did paid first then they return ticket cause the post poned the flight. later they paid. lady say from singapore immigration office(cause of our country office in singapore) she will let me know if i need minister permit with in 5 weeks. 2 weeks allready gone..
