Subject: Taxes
I was reading that once you are a PR you are subject to Canadian Tax on your world-wide earnings. How much tax does one have to pay if you are going to be out of Canada off and on. I mean not ready to come to Canada for say another year and half after making the first landing?

It is a complicated issue to compute how mauch you have to pay as taxes. But lets state first do u need to pay it or no. If you have the PR and you DONT have own home, or car in Canada then you do not have to pay it. The law states that anyone who has residential ties with Canada has to pay. These ties are owning home, or car. Other ties line phone lines, bank accounts, school admition, ect are considered only if the first two are there.

In general consider 20% in avaerage if you are going to pay

TAXES... my favourite subject...

Canada cannot charge you double Taxes. So if you have an income in a foreign country and if you pay Taxes in the foreign country Canada cannot charge taxes on the same amount of your earnings.

But to bring your money inside the country there has to be a double tax treath with the country where you are earning.

If you plan to stay in Canada for just a few months and mostly work outside then make sure you deal about your taxes in the country you are working...

You will not have to pay taxes in Canada unless you are making $100,000+ and are bringing that money in Canada. (You cant do that without paying Taxes or some sort of duty or something like that)
