HI Group,
> I have recently been accepted as a canadian immigrant and have got my visa´s stamped. Now I am 2 months pregnant, my questions are as following:
1). Do I have to intimate the CIC about the same.
2). Once I land in Canada, am I automatically elligible for the medical facilities that are granted to the PR´s from the government. Are the facilities well equipped and does one have to shelve out a lot of cash for the same....Anyone with adequate knowledge may please help us with the query.....Thanking you.

(in reply to: Medicals facilities in Canada) First of all Congrats...
Now in Canada the basic medical facilities are taken care of.
But as a recent immigration, You have to wait for a period of three months before all you can use the medical facilities from the Govt.
Hospitals will cover basic accomodation (semi-private rooms), doctors fees and stuff like that... You still have to shell out the $$$ for medicines and anything if you need.
Regarding informing about your status to CIC. Dont worry about it.. just land in Canada and continue as normal...

(in reply to: Medicals facilities in Canada) Previous writer is right , you have to wait for 3 months to get the health insurence . But you can get private insurence . But the main problem is to get a family physician . I also faced that problem when i came in Canada. Normally first 4/5 months you need to have a family physician . Then he/she will refer you to obs . Here you will find some walk in clinic . You also can go and see a doctor if you have any problems . But first 3 months you need to pay them .

Thanks Mim (in reply to: Medicals facilities in Canada) Thanks Mim for your prompt reply on the topic, I was interested to know what happens after the 3 months period, do you get complete governement medical care (free) after 3 months of stay. And how good/bad are the government medical facilities? Thanking you once again.
